I am here!
I am starting my readathon. Unfortunately I am struggling with a naff internet connection in a pub, where I am currently half listening to the meeting of the convention I help run. Now I will begin reading my first book of the day. My laptop is not plugged in, and the connection keeps cutting out and is incredibly slow, so updates will be hard to make until I can get my butt back home, but this will probably mean that I will read more in thenext few hours without the distraction of blogging.
I have randomly selected a book from my Kindle – I Never Knew There was a Word for it by Adam Jacot de Boinod. I am sure he was the guy who wrote a book about foreign words I read in a previous readathon…
Now for the obligatory intro post.
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Sunderland, in the North-east of England. Currently, The Cooper Rose pub, though most of the day I will be at my house. Hopefully staying awake.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to reading the the final book in the Paranormalcy series, which has been waiting for me on my shelf for months.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I like chips (as in fries) and the pub I am currently in does the best ever! (Now to convince someone to buy me some…)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am a 20-something book-lover who helps run a popular anime convention in the North-East of England. I also have another job but it is a secret and I am banned from talking about it. I live with my parents, but have a wonderful fiance who I will be moving in with some time in the next year. And shortly after, I will be marrying him. I love languages, anime, manga, books, football (soccer) and food.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I haven’t participated for a few readathons due to work commitments but this year I have booked the weekend off work and am planning on finally staying up for the full 24 hours. I am also raising money for charity (support me here – http://www.justgiving.com/rachelcabbit ) and also hosting a challenge in Hour 22 (more to come soon!) which is obviously what I am looking forward to the most.
So here goes. Readathon a go!
Hi Rachel
Hope you overcome your technical challenges today. If not – keep on reading!
Have fun!
Chris (Team Lion Cheerleaders)
Thank you! I’m back home now so should be fine! My home internet is (usually) reliable. 😀 Fun is being had now. Thank for your support Chris! *hugs*
I’m so glad you are joining the read-a-thon. I love read-a-thons and this is my first time participating in Dewey’s. Good Luck to you.
