I had a lovely afternoon with my daughter, walking around my home city hiding books for children and teens to find.

A Facebook group called LOOK for a BOOK North East started up about a week ago and now has over 17,000 members – all taking part in a special event this weekend.

The event involves hiding books around the region for children to go find. The finder then can read the book and either keep it, or re-hide the book.

It’s aim is to get as many kids into reading as possible and get them excited about books.

I had a few books ranging from pre-school to YA and decided to give them away as they were going to go to a charity shop anyway!

I had fun taking my daughter out and finding hiding spots for them all!

I wonder whether they will all be found, and if the people who find them will message the Facebook group?
